SAGA Community Center, a program of The Welcome Project PA, was proud to host the first ever Bucks-Mont PRIDE Festival at the beautiful Abington Art Center! SAGA is Montgomery County's LGBT+ community center, providing support, education, advocacy, and resources since 2017.
SAGA was proud to partner with several local organizations to bring the first annual PRIDE Festival to Montgomery County, PA. Guests enjoyed live music, food, community resources, family-friendly activities, and more at this free, outdoor event!
Alyssa Al-Dookhi (they/them) is a Kuwaiti-American comedian, writer, and game show host in Philadelphia. Al-Dookhi explores the themes of race and gender with high-energy, theatrical performances. They are currently the lead script writer for First Person Arts and a content creator for Abortion Access Front. Alyssa was also a contestant in the Netflix karaoke competition show ‘Sing On!’ with Tituss Burgess, and a warm-up comic for season 5 of Netflix's 'Queer Eye.'
PoshDadUltra commonly know as Posh, a Philly native who grew up musically inclined and has naturally been drawn to music throughout their life. growing up they were on their fair share of choirs and drumlines and the occasional school band, where their love for music continued to grow. They picked up deejaying late (right before COVID) but they continue to nurture their love for music through mixing and mashing sounds from across the globe. Deejaying is important to them because music is a universal language that brings people together from all walks of life to dance, have a good time and even let out some emotions and it’s a deejay’s power to take you on a journey and Posh is proud to transport you safely!
Born and raised in a mixed cultured household (Panamanian / American) in Brooklyn NY, a spotlight stealer was born. Singer/songwriter, Rozetta Marie, is currently focused on creating great music to be submitted for licensing opportunities and writing for other artists, as well as her passion project "DeLeon" in dedication to her father who was a professional jazz musician and her inspiration. "My dad is still alive and well. I just believe in giving people their flowers while they can still smell them." Her new music will be more of an R&B Soul flavor, as she digs a little deeper and reveals more of who lives behind that beautiful smile.
As a Philadelphia local, Johnny’s love for music and desire to perform came from watching the musicians and dancers in the train stations in Center City as a young boy. He would always beg his parents to sit on the ground and watch. As he became older, Johnny decided that would be the perfect space for him to let go and share his talent with others. His greatest joy is meeting the variety of genuine people who also share a love for music. Johnny uses his voice to heal and to make the world a brighter place one song at a time.
As an entertainer, songwriter, and vocal coach, Jakeya has over 25 years of successful music experience. Jakeya has blown audiences away time after time with her pristine voice and dynamic stage presence. As a Philadelphia native, Jakeya was always surrounded by music.
Jakeya’s music is a celebration of life, and she wants to encourage others to be just the way they are - Perfect, Whole, and Complete!

Meet Sean Ryan. Already on his way to becoming an eminent songwriter and singer in the music industry along with a budding acting career. He hails from the city of Brotherly Love, and as such, he loves to share his talents with the world. “It’s a blessing to be able to share my voice and my songs and in return, watch people enjoy them,” says Ryan. Inspired by greats such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Barbara Streisand, Brian Adams and contemporary acts like Chris Brown and Lady Gaga, Ryan spent almost every waking moment honing his vocal skills and writing songs while other kids were hanging out with their friends. “I would write every chance I had. I wrote about whatever I was feeling, even if it wasn’t a complete song or poem. Life inspires me to write music and I love expressing myself through this form of storytelling. Writing is so personal. It’s a great way to connect with people,” expressed Ryan. Currently, Sean is one working on his own album slated for release in the near future.
Morgan Alexa is a singer/songwriter based in the BuxMont area. She has been playing locally from the age of 10 and quite literally grew up on the stage. Being exposed to an extensive and supportive musical community from a young age instilled in Morgan the belief that music and art truly bring people from all walks of life together. Morgan hopes to bring personal connections through her music. She believes that deep down we are all playing our music for someone, even in a room where no one can hear it.
V. Brown is a singer and actor based in Philadelphia PA. His debut EP released in January 2020 entitled ‘Love Is Love’ was a beautiful display of love songs written from the perspective of the mature gay Black male. V.
Brown hopes that the take away from Love is Love would be that everyone would listen and realize that we all fall in and out of love no matter who you are. V. Brown just released a new album entitled ‘Friday Night’ in September 2020. Friday Night has a variety of moods and tempos. It’s reminiscent of 80’s and early 90’s R&B as well as a few funky club numbers.
Maddy Strouse (She/Her/Hers) is a queer Philly-based yoga teacher. She has a passion for advocacy and aims to provide a space where community can be both built and shared. In class, a flow is offered where people are encouraged to bring awareness to their body and follow what is right for them. A vinyasa flow is used with breath through the practice to bring presence. Yoga is for every body, come check it out. Find her at Lotus J. Collections Healing House Sundays at 10:30 am for LGBTQ+ yoga.
Once upon a time a little bookworm made her home in the Picture Book corner of the library. When her wings sprouted she named herself Flyleaf the Book Fairy! In the Before Times, Flyleaf held weekly, themed story times at The Highlands Mansion & Gardens in Ft. Washington (summer return date TBA). When she was commanded to remain in Fairyland for the safety of her Small Human Friends, she continued reading stories to them on YouTube! She is absolutely glittered to return once again to the Human World to read a rainbow of magical books!
